The London Dermatology Centre is adding three world class specialists to its team, thus expanding our services to include all minor dermatological surgical procedures, all aspects of nose problems, laser surgery and facial rejuvenation.

The three new team members are:
Mr Santdeep Paun:
Mr Santdeep Paun is Consultant Surgeon and Head of Department of Otolaryngology / Head and Neck Surgery at St Bartholomew’s and The Royal London Hospitals, recognised as one of the leading teaching hospitals in the UK. His main interest is in Nasal and Facial Plastic Surgery.
He specialises in dealing with all aspects of nose problems including breathing difficulty, sinus problems, deformities of the nose including for cosmetic purposes and associated snoring and sleep apnoea problems. He also performs all other facial cosmetic procedures. Within his NHS practice, he works as part of a team of surgeons looking after patients following severe trauma to the face and specializes in fixing noses and facial problems.
His special interests are septorhinoplasty, nasal and sinus disorders, reconstructive and aesthetic facial plastic surgery, snoring, and obstructive sleep apnoea.
He has a strong interest in teaching and has lectured nationally and internationally on various aspects of his work in this field of expertise. He runs a course teaching other doctors about surgical techniques in facial plastic surgery.
He also chairs a committee developing robust certification for surgeons in this specialty. In the past few years, he has written extensively on the subject including co-authoring nine separate book chapters. He was the first UK based surgeon certified by the new globally recognized International Board of Facial Plastic Surgical Societies.
Dr Pantelis Papageorgiou:
Dr. Pantelis Papageorgiou, MD, is a member of the British Association of Dermatologists. He is fully accredited with the GMC, on the British Specialist Register, and he is a fellow of the European Academy of Dermatology and Venereology. He completed his training at the Hammersmith Hospital, Imperial College, London, UK. Dr Papageorgiou has received specialist training in laser surgery and holds a BTEC Diploma in Skin Laser Technology, Applications and Treatment (Loughborough College, Loughborough, UK).
His areas of special interest include acne, lasers and cosmetic dermatology. He performs a wide range of procedures for facial rejuvenation including laser and IPL treatments, Botox, dermal fillers and chemical peels.
He has conducted pioneering clinical research in the treatment of acne with light sources and the treatment of rosacea with IPL (Intense Pulsed Light). He has published numerous articles and lectures regularly on these subjects, including several high-profile papers in the British Journal of Dermatology.
Dr Papageorgiou also works at the Skin Laser Clinic at the Royal Free Hospital and holds an honorary NHS appointment.
Ms Annie McGuinness:
Ms McGuinness is a senior surgeon and Emergency Medicine Consultant. She qualified at Queen’s University, Belfast, and is a fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh, and a Founder Fellow of the Faculty (now College) of Emergency Medicine 1993. She is and advisor to the Medical Committee of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society, and an Honorary Lecturer at the Royal College of Radiology, at the University of London.
Her clinical areas of special interest are head and neck trauma; plastic surgery and scars; medico-legal matters; poisoning and overdose.
Ms McGuinness takes and active interest in teaching, and has particular responsibility for teaching the specialty registrars. Her publications include peer-reviewed papers in the Emergency Medical Journal and the British Medical Journal, and include topics such as pre-tibial lacerations, Tetanus prophylaxis, olanzapine overdose, and head injuries.
As well as her work at the London Dermatology Centre, Ms McGuinness is working as a consultant at University College Hospital, where she was Clinical Director. The department currently treats £110,000 patients per year. She has been instrumental in developing an acute brain injury unit (ABIU) in collaboration with the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery, admitting patients with mild to moderate head injuries.
